SIPS Episode – Learn about the history of some of your favorite rum cocktails. We go over the history, some of the changes over time, and of course taste / rate these cocktails. Sorry no pirate talk in this episode. Our fake Puerto Rican accents are notably absent although we did discuss our possible Puerto Rican stage names. Witness the best legal disclaimer ever. We cover these 2 cocktails that you can find widely available:
 
Papa Doble SIPS -4
3 ½ oz of Bacardi 4 – year Anejo Cuatro
1 oz Freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
¾ oz Maraschino Liqueur
1 oz Freshly squeezed lime juice
½ oz Simple Syrup (1:1)
Shake all of the ingredients and strain into a chilled coupe or cocktail glass.  Garnish with a lime wedge. 
 
Dark ‘N Stormy SIPS – 3
Similar recipe as below but using Black Seal Rum & Gosling Ginger Beer
 
Stormy and Dark SIPS – 3
This cocktail is about as easy as it gets. To a Tom Collins or Highball glass filled with ice, add:
2.5 ounces of Bacardi 8-year Reserva Ocho
5 ounces of good ginger beer
Stir and garnish with a lime wedge

SIPS Episode – The BIG podcast 2.0 from the Bourbon Classic 2018. We did this a few years ago and decided to catch up with other again. Some changes in the cast from the last time, but it’s a very engaging conversation around lots of topics. We talk about the Bourbon Classic event itself. This is the festival that flys under the radar of many and yet delivers a unique chance for distillers and the media to share in the conversation. Probably better than most trade tasting events and this is open to the public. Be sure to make your plans to attend Bourbon Classic in 2019 now and check things out for yourself. We hope to make it back again as well maybe moderating some of these seminars next year.
